This drive has performed outstandingly since attaching it to my Desktop and also swapping onto my laptops. All computers have acknowledged the drive immediately and has given no failures. The speed of the drive is consistent and extreemly fast, through a USB 2.0 interface. The drive is backwards compatible to USB 1 but always double check that your USB is "enhanced" (2.0) ..otherwise the best suggestion is to install a nominal 2.0 add-on card. Most problems arise from this oversight.

I just didn't like that it came formatted as FAT32 (although of course this is more compatible with various OS's). First thing I did was formatting it to NTFS :) I like to have it under control with file permissions :)

Good product! I suggest you to get one of these if you ever need an external hard drive!
