I receieve a Nikon for my 16th birthday. It has lasted me 3 wicked years and I take it everywhere (not literally everywhere). It's a great digital single reflect lens camera. But is also great for when considering a career in photography.

There's loads of great stuff to learn about the camera. You can also buy the same make for lenses which will be suitable.

You can use it from Landscape Photography to Sports Photography. It has specialized settings for a type of genre: Macro, Portrait, Sports, Night etc...
