The Reviews
The Nikon S700 is a huge 12.1megapixel camera with a 3x zoom lens and a metal body, although with a plastic flap for the batteries. There’s also a 2.7 inch LCD monitor, image vibration reduction and ISO 3200 capability. While the Coolpix S700 is certainly not perfect, I like this camera very much and it is a huge improvement on my admittedly older Fuji Finepix. The image is really sharp if when you blow it up really large and overall quality is amazing, The camera exposes and produces colours well, and it is really easy to use. Sometimes it is slightly slow when autofocusing, but with the locked focus the S700 is extremely fast. Its real strength, however, is just how well it works in darkish situations, such as when I used it recently at a party. The camera is stylish, very compact and easy to hold with lots of functions if you want, such as a great movie mode. I think the S700 one of the better small cameras currently on the market at a reasonable price, although I also looked at the Canon SD.
