The Reviews

Now I know RAM chips aren't greatly exciting. However, and this is a really big however, if you're looking to purchase a laptop and you'd like to knock up the RAM, do not pay an extra 120 pounds for a 1GB difference. Crucials' pricing at just 65 pounds for 2x1GB DDR2 RAM is well a damn-sight better than any of the manufacturers will charge for the change, which could save you a healthy sum of around 60 pounds.

There will be some of you I know who will be saying, "Yeh but what about the installation?". I can assure you it's really really really ease. Keep a cool head and it all just pops out. When you put it in it's very nerve wracking because it says to 'push it in hard', and you don't want to push hard into your new 700 pound laptop, but honestly if you ever have to do this don't worry just do as they say.

The crucial instructions were specific to my notebook and so installing the chips was a doddle. I had no problems and it all came within a couple of days.

RAM chips deffinately do make a difference to the amount of memory a computer can use, but ultimately the processor is the most important thing. Also remember that if you're using Windows Vista you can use any old USB Stick to perform as RAM and so if you have Vista there is no need to buy an upgrade of RAM.

If you are going to purchase a laptop and considering upgrading the RAM I would strongly urge you not to give your money away and to keep it and buy your own RAM. The Crucial RAM itself works fine and I've had no trouble at all. Job Done.
